Meet your doula

A confident guide through a sacred transition

Mothers’ Landing was born from my love for women and my deep respect for the extraordinary role they have in bringing new life into the world. Pregnancy and birth mark one of life’s greatest transitions, and every woman deserves to make informed decisions, feel heard, and be treated with the care and dignity that her role requires as she steps into motherhood. Doulas make that possible.

Catherine Shrake · Birth Doula

I believe a mother should feel seen—not managed.

For the past 11 years, I have had the privilege of supporting families through pregnancy and birth, each one different and each one deserving the same attentive care. My work is to listen closely, prepare thoroughly, and bring steadiness when the room becomes intense or uncertain.

As a mother myself, I understand how vulnerable it can feel to make important decisions while your body, your family, and your hopes are all involved at once. I want you to have clear information, practical tools, and someone who remembers what matters to you.

My Catholic faith shapes the way I see this work: every person has immeasurable dignity, every mother deserves the utmost respect and care, and service is most meaningful when it's done with intentionality. I welcome all families with deep respect for their own beliefs and circumstances. I am here to serve.

Attentive

I listen for what is spoken, what is changing, and what you may not yet have words for.

Practical

Comfort, food, positioning, preparation, and clear questions often matter more than grand gestures.

Respectful

Your family, faith, care team, and choices are treated with dignity throughout our work together.
